Supplenent questions…has anybody used/taken creatine, glutamine, CLA, EFA, BCAA, &/or yohimbine hcl/yohimbe?

I know that this isn’t a men’s health question, but guys usually seem to know more about weight lifting, supplementing, etc…lol. I also posted this in the diet section, but so far, no results…

Ok, I’m 5′9, 143ish, f, & 20. I’ve been eating a 1200 calorie diet (50% protein, 25% fat, 25% carbs) steadily for the last 2-3 weeks, along with cardio 4-6 times a week & whole body weight lifting 3 times a week. I’m a vegetarian, so to get enough protein I already supplement with whey & sometimes soy protein. I’m between 19-20% body fat, but want to lower it to around 14% so I’ve been researching different supplements to help. Basically I want to lose body fat & get stronger (gain strength, not mass), so that my muscles are more defined and ”toned” looking. I’ve been researching & just about everywhere suggests these supplements, or at lest glutamine, cla, & bcaa (branched chain amino acids), along with an efa (essential fatty acids) supplement to help lower body fat percentages & gain strength. I know these aren’t miracle pills & that’s not what I’m after. I’m just wanting some first hand experience & results from people who’ve taken one or more of these. If you have, please tell me which one(s), your results, & also your gender & age. Also, I’ve heard that creatine gives you a bloated feeling/look for as long as you take it, especially girls. This is the last thing I want, but I’ve also heard that it’s supposed to go away after a week or so and definitely after you cycle off, and that when you’re off it, you notice more muscle definition. Any experience would be great! Thanks!

  1. I have heard you should talk to your doctor first before even thinking about taking any of that stuff.
